Found this on one of my lilies. Killed it. Do we get a lot of them?

Didn't know it had reached that for north!!! Apparently it's the dreaded 'global warming' that has allowed them to spread. Just keep squishing them.

Oh no - my pet hate. I can't grow lilies anymore because of these little fiends. Poor you.

Yes I'm up in the central belt of Scotland. Apparently they are in the USA and Canada now. I'll keep vigilant and try to keep on top of it. Lost a couple of bulbs already. Thanks.

I'll try my best to eradicate them here. I'd heard of them but thought nothing of it till the other day.

Mine have all been eaten up with them even though I carefully picked them off and put them in a jam jar ,I can't bring myself to squish them even though they die in a jar of water :o(

Sorry to hear that Amy. Apparently it's a 7 week cycle, where the grubs bury into the soil and emerge as adults, then the whole process starts again. I'll go back online and see what steps to take to deter them. Apparently companion planting with turtle heads? Is one solution.

I use to collect mine for the John Inns institute Whitelillies ,they were trying to find a solution to the problem by breeding from the ones I sent , as far as I know they haven't suceeded so far :o(

Well, since discovering this one and discarding two bulbs, I don't seem to have any further damage. So, here's fingers crossed.

I squished two more a couple of days ago - mating at the time so hope she hadn't laid anything.
