Oakleaf Hydrangea

Hiya, I am glad to hear about this Hydrangea. What a great looking bush. I like that you showed the Hosta next to it so we could see the scale of the bush. Thanks

It is a beautiful hydrangea, the flowers turn pink when they age and the fall color is outstanding. Most varieties will get 6 feet or taller with a wider spread, 'Alice' and 'Alison' both get much larger. 'Pee Wee' and 'Sikes Dwarf' are both smaller varieties.

Much as I love hydrangea its having the space to accomodate...so it's good to hear there are smaller varieties available...

Yes, 'Sikes Dwarf' is smaller than 'Pee Wee' but spreads more. They can both be kept to 3-4' pretty easily though. 'Little Honey' is also a small variety with yellow foliage and scarlet fall color, it even holds its color well in the shade.
