This is the coolest little plant, I wish I has a better spot in my garden for it. The needles almost feel like rubber.

This one will supposedly only get to 3' (1m) tall and a little wider. I guess as it grows it becomes less pyramidal and more rounded. It grows roughly 7-8cm a year and does hold its color well even in the winter. In harsh winter climates, it can easily get windburn but I have it sited where it is protected from wind. Sciadopitys is a beautiful plant, there are narrow columnar types and a few darker green varieties too. The species tree will only get to 5-6m and all of them have a nice texture.

Thanks as well as the colour I love its 'spikyness' When it is taller it would look good lit up at night!
