The shadehouse garden has just the right micro-climate for these tropicals. I'm definitely going to get more of the sprial gingers and shell gingers. They've just done so well out there ... doubled in size in no time.

Your spiral gingers look flawless. I can't grow them well, they hate the hard water here. Shell Gingers I really like and yes they grow like a weed (and are very easy to grow). I especially like Alpinia zerumbet 'variegata' and Alpinia sanderae. It's amazaing how many hundreds of species and varieties which are available. :>)
