I fed my goldfish tomatoes (I was 5!) They didn't make it...I also tried to cuddle them...they didn't like it....now I just look at them, swimming prettily, they prefer it that way!!!!

Lulu...whatever next...ah wel you were five...
A little story, In our Pond on the I.O.W. we had Koi & Goldfish, and if you're a fish keeper, you know they will jump up to catch insects...well one of our Koi had done this and landed on the patio...we were out at the time, and Mum being the ever caring lady that she was picked it up and wrapped it in a towel to try and keep it warm...When we came home, we put it in a bowl of pond water and tried to keep it going, but it didn't survive the night....sad memory but nice still...
Love the Fish Karen...

Oh, Sue...the tragic ones are always the best! Did you not try mouth to mouth resuscitation? lol! :///
Lulu and Pixi - these koi eat everything!! The frogs have not managed to produced a single froglet.....
...and I'm surprised that the little fish have survived long enough to get too big to be eaten!! They must be cleverer than tadpoles..... :/

Im surprised mine have alsted so long for a year I thought they were dead! lol never saw them..then when I redid the pond coz of a leak I found all 4 still alive! Amazing eh?

They're nothing if not survivors, Pixi!...mine have been under ice for weeks on end in the winter... :)

Oh yeah that too..mind and dont ever break the ice..its could give them a heart attack..or something..lol

Haha! So I'm told...but have done that too! lol!! The new babies are 4th generation...
...The local DIY store were selling two goldfish for 2 euros - I bought four...never had fewer than 12 since then, and that's after giving loads away...:))))))

They just don't behave! lol!
...Have to tell my tragic fish story now!...
I won a goldfish at the shows (just along the road from Kinghorn!)...Tammie Troot was its name...lived for nine years...
...but during those years, it would regularly do that upside down dying thing...
...my mum used to give it a teaspoonful of milk of magnesia and a teaspoonful of whisky into its bowl - and it always recovered!!!
...until, we went on holiday and my gran didn't know that it was a drink and drug addict....RIP, Tammie Troot...
