Everything is getting a bit crazy this year I think Meadowland...I have a gorgeous White rose which sent a gorgeous Lemon bloom among the white...and if you look at Karenfrance pics you'll see she's got a twin Dahlia too...
My Snowball Tree that flowers in Spring, has blooms on one branch only...highly unusual, and lots of members are experiencing so many unusual things with their plants....
Enjoy your two colours...it's fun as long as they're healthy...:o)))

Bizzarre! You didn't get it from Lidl, did you? These two are coming out at roughly the same time...mine had one full bloom before the other grew out of the back of it...

No Karen....:o)) this was one of my 1 Euro pack of Dahlias two seasons back...Can't say I noticed it then...going to keep an eye open for these bizarre occurences...

Lol!! Mine was from my €1,30 pack this spring...very strange...

19 Aug, 2011

:o))) think I might google this and see what I can find out, I think it's interesting...

I wonder if these cheaper packs are anything like buying a named product and the supermarket own, the only difference being is normally the odd sizes...!! what do you think...

19 Aug, 2011

You could be right, there, Sue...perhaps they buy up the bulbs/corms etc. that the others reject...?

19 Aug, 2011

it's a thought I suppose...

Still...great value...twice as much for half the cost! lol!

19 Aug, 2011

:o))) Yep...I shall be watching this with great interest...

OH also noticed this morning, tiny white flowers appearing on the Spirea...;

19 Aug, 2011

Me too...buds and flowers appearing on the choisya!

19 Aug, 2011

really...that's nice, I don't think my Choisya will flower, its taken a long time nursing it back to being fit, and its just putting new growth together, still you never know...
Did everything go ok this morning...!!

Only put mine in this year - so first time!

Will PM you as soon as children go poolside! :))

Did you know its commonly known as the cat pee plant, no need to tell you why....:o)))
OK...*
its funny as i've been looking at the Spirea, it is very big, and i was thinking if I take some of it back, it will give me room for another Shrub or Rose...possibly a Hybrid Tea...In front of it there is OH favourite, and i've forgotten the blooming name..Pieris..;stupid woman...and its got lots of new red growth...so I would like something to compliment it....but i'll have to watch the blooms on the spirea first... You were right about the meteo...;its hot here now...

Hi Crissue..hope you don't mind me dropping into this conversation... on my other goY page (Lori) I put up pictures last year of my echinacea doing strange things...I never did find out exactly what was going on with it but the seed pod/centre was grossly distorted...and I couldn't tell if it was by an insect or a fungus or both!? The cells seemed to be confused as they would put out a green shoot right in the middle of the seed head! Maybe that weakened the plant ..because the plants I dug up didn't survive the move! I had both the specie and a white hybrid. Gone forever now...It was a puzzle though.

Course not Lori...I'll have look, there's some strange things going on with plants and shrubs...I hope they don't suffer for it next year...
That was really bizarre what happened to yours...

20 Aug, 2011

Hi Lori...can you tell me which blog or page it was, I did look but couldn't find it...thanks...:o))

On closer inspection, Sue...mine is like a Siamese twin, from the stem joint upwards!

20 Aug, 2011

The pics are pretty ancient, Crissue. Will check them out and advise. no prob :-) and they were on my other page! will p/m you the link.

21 Aug, 2011

Ok Lori thanks...The Co-joined Dahlia has started to unfurl now, and they both seem to be opening together, real twins eh...I'll take another shot as they develop....

22 Aug, 2011

Hi crissue...it's in a blog called "a day of surprises" about midway through the text there are two pics of the strange things that were happening to my echinacea...
