If you have room to keep them warm in the winter you can grow some. It's when they get to be large trees that's going to be a problem.

They sure grow fast in heat! They love it!
I've had them burn in pots here in late summer (in extreme heat). The trees in the ground will take desert heat. I just got back from 4 days in Palms Springs and there's some large plumeria trees growing out there (they get a little burned from the severe heat there, though). Temps to 120ºF/48.9ºC. or hotter in the low deserts of California are common.

Delonix,
That is way too hot. I've had it with summer, bring on the cool days when you can walk around with t-shirts and hair not up in a pony tail.
I'm making sure my Plumeria's don't dry out too much.....I had to water them every day this week. (pot too small for them now I think)

Good for you Meanie, you will really enjoy these seeds.
I am starting some Plumeria's from seed for one of my cousins. She is even going to try to grow some in London. (I really don't think that's going to work out for her, I gave her one of my Palm tree seedlings to try and that is not doing too good.)

Yes, I couldn't imagine living in heat of the Palm Spring area. It's way too hot! The night lows in summer rarely go below 85ºF/29ºC. and many times it still 104ºF/40ºC at 2:00 am. (like when I was just there).
I know very well what extreme heat can do to one's mood.
I hope it cools down for you soon!
