Thank you! I knew that sooner or later I'd have my camera in hand when they arrived to feed. This little lady (the males have the ruby throats, wouldn't you know it?) is a bit of a tyrant...she stands guard over the feeder, perched in the branches she watches to see if any others come to feed...then zips out and chases the others away!
My Mom would have called her "a dog in the manger"...lol.

Ahhh, have to agree with your profile then about being in the most beautiful part of Ontario! Fairly close to Algonquin Park? Not had the good fortune to see much of your neck of the woods firsthand. I'm in Brantford. Would love to move away from a city centre eventually and get a nice parcel of land, no neighbours :)

We are east of the park and a bit south. Small world ...have family who farmed tobacco near Scotland and Waterford for years.
We have neighbours just up the road a little, as we are in a little settlement that goes back a long way. Historically the place was a logging town. Now it's very quiet..sometimes deafeningly so. There are still logging trucks on the roads which manage to shatter the silence occasionally. When it's still you can hear/see forever! The view from the top of our hill is majestic.
