Do you mean the flower...or the vision, Meanie? lol!
In any case, it's fab!

Hhhmm...it's the first time I've seen it this color all summer Meanie. I bet even the plants are fed up of the heat and sun.

Thanks Karen.

Alexandramou:

This plant loves heat. That's why it grows wild in Balboa Park here in San Diego. :>)

I'll concede defeat in our challenge, although mine has far better colour Alex!
I'll post a pic up later.

Delonix,
It might love the heat but the flowers are changing color (for now).
It's September and we are still up in the high 30's!!! "The wind is picking up but not enough to bring the temperatures down.

Meanie,
We both knew who the winner was going to be didn't we?!?!
My Polygata has grown into a nice size shrub now. Give me a month or so for things to cool down then we can compare color!!!

Alexandramou:

It was showery with some downpours and humid today'(Sept 5th)...from monsoonal moisture. It's the first time it's rained on Labor Day (Holiday) since I moved to San Diego. By Wednesday the temps are going to be up to 105ºF/40ºC inland (where I live). YUCK, YUCK, YUCK!!!

Not sure why it double posted...maybe due to the maintenance which was done today

40C yuk yuk yuk.
Ha! I just saw the weather forecast for tomorrow.....rain and 30C!!! Hurray...30C
It hasn't rained for months, except for one night that rained for like 10minutes. That doesn't count as rain.

Alexandramou:

It officially got hotter than 40ºC/104ºC today in many areas. Downtown San Diego recorded a record high temp for the day: at 97ºF/36ºC (remember: it's one of the coolest recording stations in the county). Tomorrow is suppose to be hotter. It's still roasting hot at 12:20 a.m.

It hasn't rained for months here too. It's very unusual for us to receive rain this time of year...especially two days in a row. Typically we don't start our rainy season until around Dec.

We didn't get any rain!!! There was lightning in the distance and some rumbling today but nothing...the north wind came down and blew the rain away. How disappointing. It has cooled down at least, (only need two showers a day now) ;o)))

Oh my, that sounds real hot. Stay away from the sun and forget about taking pictures until it cools down a little.

Alexandramou:

At least it's cooled down a little for you. It has cooled down here, too. I'm so glad!

I haven't taken any photos in this horrible heat. I've been swimming every evening at my friend's nicely air conditioned house. :>)

I'm glad you're having your swims. Does your friend have an indoor pool? Or do you swim outdoors and go into the air conditioned house?

Temperatures right back up today!!! Even my daughter told me she felt like she couldn't breath today. One good thing is that it cools down in the evenings. This is the longest lasting summer with such extreme heat since I've moved here. I just hope we have a real mild winter as well. I don't like extreme heat but I don't like the freezing cold either.

The pool is outdoors. lol! :>)

I feel sorry for you! The hot weather just doesn't want to go away! I hope you get some relief soon!

I can relate to that suffocating feeling of heat. It was so hot on Thursday. I was in a horrible mood! Also, we had a major power outage. The largest in San Diego County's history. It affected Orange County to the north to Arizona and Northern Baja California, Mexico to the south (it affected about 5 million in all). The electricity was out for 12 hours on the hottest day of the year. It was horrible!

It was cooler than normal today...which is A OK with me.
