Honestly, I don't think I would jump in there no matter how hot I was Crissue....cooled me down just looking at it. Then I opened the door to my car....woosh, the hot air.

It's still very hot here too Karen. It's trying to cool down, the wind feels good but the temps are going to climb again tomorrow. All this up and down means autumn is on its way.

The clouds look like our monsoonal moisture clouds here in San Diego. The monsoonal flow is suppose to be returning tomorrow...with the heat and humidity and get really hot by Sunday through next Friday.

It's climbing again here too...1st of September temps soaring..bit too intense for me...

Well that was short lived...mind you it was so Hot yesterday, somethings was afoot....mother of a thunderstorm twice today...Rain jumping up off the pavements it was that hard...The air now is so fresh...all doors open...:)))

Yes, the hottest time of the year in southern California is from Sept - Nov. The reason being by mid-Sept. we get into Santa Ana Wind Season (Extremely HOT dry winds, which cause firestorms). The hottest temp ever recorded officially in San Diego (at the air port - which is one of coolest recording stations in San Diego County [believe-it-or-not]) was 111ºF/44ºC. on Sept 26, 1963. It's pretty common for inland areas of s. Cal. to get up to 110ºF/43ºC in Sept/Oct. and over 90ºF/33ºC. in November (due to the Santa Anas).

November is statically the sunniest month in San Diego.

I love the change of seasons here in the UK, but cant help remembering how much we moan over squelchy wet summers and now a couple of really hard winters..guess we always will moan!lol! Still, it could be a lot worse and much as when winter comes I cant wait for spring and warm sunshine, wouldnt swap...one thing I cant stand now Im much older is the hot sun. I was still wearing short sleeves to the supermarket on Monday when it was 12 deg!

Ah, we're all the same Tet. Never happy with what we have. I must admit, I don't mind the very hot sun when I'm at the beach but when I have to walk around and work....well I look for the shade.

I'm with Alex...12Deg...brrrr!!! Luckily we never get such low temps for our high temps here in San Diego.

Cant understand y'all, 12 deg is quite pleasant if there is no cold wind....I dont know, you hot house plants...lol!

Sounds like you're in for a hot summer. I'm so glad the heat is behind us. It's been sunny and warm which is perfect. Low to mid 20's.

I know it can be very hot in the Perth area. I've seen the temps. It definitely gets hotter there at the coast than here in California. The inland areas of California are the areas where we fry in summer, though.

I bet when you lived in Cairns it didn't get as hot, but with the humidity it probably felt as hot.
