Two and a half weeks and the leaf cuttings are still firm - that must be good news.........
I turned my compost this morning, and on the top of one of the E.bicolors that I cut off when it was done was a bulb forming with a shoot coming out of it! I've potted it up.

Four of the leaf cuttings have taken, as has the bulbil from the top of the spent flower stalk.

Wow...good one Meanie..How do you know when the leaf cuttings have taken....I slipped one out a while ago and it had three little roots...I slipped it back in again..What should i do now?...:>)

15 Nov, 2011
I had two of the six go brown, so I figure that if yours are still green then they must be ok..........

Thanks Meanie....Patience is a virtue, as they say.....

How are the cutting doing?
Three of mine have taken. On one alone I have four shoots coming through!
14 Dec, 2011
I have 4 cuttings left, though there aren't any shoots appearing above the soil...Im not feeling very hopeful Meanie....I shall leave them another while....
15 Dec, 2011
Well, one of the three remaining cuttings looks as dead as a very dead thing, but a fresh new shoot has emerged from its base!
15 Dec, 2011
Oh that sounds hopeful Meanie....I wont discard them too soon then..Thank you and wishing you a very happy Christmas and wonderful New Year....:>)
17 Dec, 2011
And to you too........
