I love Fuchsias as well & many years ago I grew loads of standard Fuchsias. That was at the beginning of the '80s! I still have a few (paper) photos of that time but the photos were taken from the bedroom window looking down the garden to the end where I had them tied to a string that ran the width of the garden so the wind couldn't knock them over as they were in pots. The plants hardly look more than sticks with some green at the top so, unless you knew what you were looking at, you wouldn't have thought of them as standard Fuchsias!

Three or four years ago I thought I would plant up all my hanging baskets with Fuchsias so I bought 4 each of 5 varieties that I found on a market stall here. I planted each basket with one of each variety with the tallest in the middle. I was quite happy with the result & managed to keep the majority alive over the winter in the baskets they had spent the summer in. The next year they also made a good display then I tried to keep them for a 2nd winter but they almost all ended up dying. ;-((
