While washing up, I glanced out of the window and saw this awesome bird crash to the pavement across the road. I ran and grabbed the camera and managed a few shots before she flew away with her prey.

Thank you Karen.
Don't worry Lil, it's all a natural balance out there - we're the only species that mess with it!
Ha ha ha! Thanks Moti . . . I guess it's a bit early in the day for anything stronger . . . lol. ;-))

Awesome shot! I saw this happen from my garage roof but the hawk was so fast I had no time to fetch a camera. Brilliant.

Thanks Grandmage, but what were you doing on the garage roof? . . . only kidding! You're right, my usual view is a brief one as they dash across the gardens. :-)

LOL Muddy!!! Trust you to get the wrong end of the stick!! I meant to say, I was in the kitchen and a big fat pigeon was on the garage roof...but not for long, one swoop and it was gone. Like you say, so fast..........

A beautiful majestic bird,Muddy, and a great shot..but still feel sad about the pigeon, even though it's the balance of nature....

I wish the Sparrowhawk would take a few of the pigeons in my garden, think they think it is a holiday home for pigeons. Brilliant Picture!!

Love it Olive! Same here, I am always shooing them away as they queue up to eat the spills from the bird feeder, think my neighbours think I am demented, Lol.
