Until you try picking the figs and find that the wasps got there first and are still at home!

If you manage to get them at exactly the right moment, they are like little pots of warm jam. If you leave them a moment too long, they can start to ferment and turn alcoholic and are VERY nasty.
Bloomer - it isn't eating the wasps that is the problem - the damage when they sting you has to be seen to be believed, and they are vicious and persistent, especially the tiny ones. :o((((

Love fresh figs straight of the tree. I had my first ever on the Island of Rhodes in Greece.

Oh what a hard life it is...sunshine,scenery,figs,doors off hinges..and wasps! will it never end.?? Lol.

Couldn't describe the Figs any better than that...Our old neighbours tree was laden this year, and deep blue, and delicious...Ours being a younger tree had its first fruit this year, which was green, and delicious...sweet like jam as you say...hope next year they will be even better...as the Tree will be more established...
