It was so warm this morning I took the opportunity to have breakfast in the garden ~ not quite up to the standard of breakfast at Tiffany's!!

thick cut toast & marmalade,
lily on the table in dappled shade,
Tis a sight that would inspire our Chaucer,
even the cups match the saucer !!
Now thats posh Sticki, forget Tiffany's,

need to look-up preserve receipes around 1340 to see if ol Geof had marmalade.
That tea looks perfect, no gnats in your patch eh?
2 Oct, 2011
What's with the rhyming ... oh perhaps it was Twinings? . . . .
2 Oct, 2011
not at breakfast time bampy ~ more like evening then they just eat me.
shirley are you rhyming as well do i see
you are very welcome to share husbands tea
but i prefer coffee at that hour of the day
so which would you like ~ i will make what you say!?

Make me tea and I'll run away
for tis a drink I cannot abide
Make me a coffee any time of day
then I'm happy to sit by your side!
. . . . . and this is why I don't do poetry ... lol!

Shirley has coffee,
she really hates tea,
but if I'm invited,
I am partial to 'Tetlee'
I always have toast,
that, I can handle,
but as it's my birthday,
can I have a candle?
( not too bothered about you icing it though ! )Lol.
Same reason why I don't do poetry either,Shirley :o))

LOL, Sandra ... and when you read poetry (I call it that very loosely!) do you read it in the 'sing-song' way ... rather than read it as a sentence? .. Does that make any sense at all? . . . . .
2 Oct, 2011
Yep,Shirley..it does make sense..probably why we will never be poet Laureate ! Lol :o))))
2 Oct, 2011
no but its fun to read, i cant do it either ~ we can blame bampy!!!
only coffee for me in the morning, tea in afternoon, tastes all wrong otherwise.
you can have a candle bloomer and tea!! i might have one of those floating candles!!
2 Oct, 2011
Not in my tea,ta very much ,Sticki !I will bring my new mug,if you don't mind ..no offence, but candle wax doesn't sound very appealing..it would be like skimming fat off gravy !..and don't offer me a biscuit to dip in it,to soak it up ,please..as I would hate to abuse your hospitality ! :o)))

Do you know Sticki, that looks just perfect to me! I love your china...have a bit of a thing about china actually, even though I don't collect it any more....but that's a gorgeous pattern...and Tea with a good marmalade on toast is absolutely the best breakfast...in fact I made some bread this afternoon just for that very purpose...have to go out early and buy some more marmalade...ran out on Friday!!
2 Oct, 2011
you can make marmalade quite easily if you have a food processor!!
thanks karen ~ its pip studio china!!!
am i allowed to offer you cake bloomer?
2 Oct, 2011
I do have a processor Sticki. What would I do without my Magimix? ;))

3 Oct, 2011

I just chopped up oranges and I think a lemon or two in the processsor and boiled it with water and sugar until setting point!
3 Oct, 2011

6 Oct, 2011
did you know there were people long ago called the 'beaker people' ???
6 Oct, 2011
no, tell me more.
6 Oct, 2011
they were so called because of the 'beakers' that were found with them
hold on a minute ~ have a cup of tea ~ in your beaker while i google to find out more.
6 Oct, 2011
The Beaker People, partially credited with the building with the second stage of Stonehenge, are late Stone Age people who are thought to have emerged around 2200 BC. They were so named by archaeologists because of the brightly colored, geometrically patterned earthenware drinking vessels often found in their graves. It is thought they made these vessels for over five centuries.
got the info from here:

7 Oct, 2011
:0)) Sticki Toffee would be a great name for a tea rooms.
8 Oct, 2011
Nice idea and very tempting Linda!
8 Oct, 2011
It would be great to be able just to have a small tea room if you had a huge garden but it's not only the cost to get it going its all the insurance etc etc paperwork etc etc and for a small concern far too much time and money from any small profit margin that you would make.
9 Oct, 2011
And then 'elf and safety!!
9 Oct, 2011
