12 Oct, 2011
Try Fedex too Pixi....they are all over Asia
12 Oct, 2011
Are you going to get the money before it leaves the country? Can you get a quote and add it to the price?
13 Oct, 2011
Which painting did you sell Pixi?
13 Oct, 2011
thanks i've checked out dhl etc going to tke parcel to PO tomorrow see what it is jsut for airmail. :) I told lady if it was more than £20 she would have to pay it :)
Blue Sea Lulu :)
13 Oct, 2011
Try Parcel Force Worldwide Pixi, Royal Mail will be more expensive. Ask for both prices at the PO.
13 Oct, 2011
Going there ytomorrow..just got it all parcelled up..oh yeah you work for them dont you! lol Looks like it will cost about 35 pounds. :)
13 Oct, 2011
That's not too bad, really, is it? All the shipping should be down to her though...charge her the extra and for insurance!!!
We used to send boxes of pots all over Europe and the USA...if you make sure that you have packed according to their guidelines, the insurance is definitely worth taking in case of loss or damage... :)))
Have never used acrylics, Pixi, and I'm thinking of having some materials shipped out here...how do they compare to oils? (Going to be pretty bored soon....)
:) x
14 Oct, 2011
Well acrylics dry much quicker! sometiems too wuick.but you can get stuff to mix to lengthen the working time. We use acrylics in classes. Tho i do prefer oils ad the smell of linseed oil and turps! :)))
14 Oct, 2011
That's what I was thinking...but I'll have to get one of the divers to bring the stuff over and he might have trouble getting chemicals through security...lol!
It's just an idea, right now...don't really know what to do with myself...
Not going back out again, after yesterday's incident, til they get us a decent car!! :((
14 Oct, 2011
well get acrylics..cant you order them and canvases on the net? or do some mosaics!
Yesterdays incident? what happeend?
14 Oct, 2011
Ha! That's what I thought before I got here and realised that it's actually like a different planet! lol! No, things will have to be brought in.....
Well, they gave us a Pajero (a good vehicle) but it got written off before I got here (with Nigel in it!) by a truck with failed brakes...So the only vehicle left in the yard was a beat up Toyota pick-up...
We got stopped by some really aggressive policemen yesterday...in 'The Village' (scary place) and they let the air out of one of the tyres...I thought they were going to arrest the driver and leave me stranded! It was really frightening...
They wouldn't have stopped a decent car...... :(
14 Oct, 2011
What!!!!!!!!! OMG! henny are you safe???????????????
14 Oct, 2011
Oh and by the way..jsut rewrapped painitng in bubblewrap and brpwn paper it jsut made the limit for airmail..so only jsut over 20pounds :))))) fedex etc were about 50! I thought it went by size but apparanlty its just the weight so thats great! So see? size doesnt matter! hahah dont beleive i jsut wrote that! of course it does! LOl ;) x
14 Oct, 2011
OMG as well Karen!!! Try to be careful and safe but not a prisoner.
So right Pixi, so right :)))))
14 Oct, 2011
Haha! LOL! Good for you, Pixi! That's great!
The MD has already said yes to the new car...and the driver is in serious trouble for putting me in harm's way...
On the bright side, I went out to the boat club for lunch today (in the compound) with a Welsh lady who lives around the corner...She showed me a lovely swimming pool and fitness centre which I can join...and two shops which I didn't know existed!!! :)))
Not going out again until we have the new car.............!
14 Oct, 2011
well thats nice going out for lunch! there you go now you have places to go :))))
14 Oct, 2011
keep safe karen.
14 Oct, 2011
That's not such good news Karen, you must have been in a terrible state. Were they asking for money? Will the driver lose his job?
I would say more but I may cause another hoo haa!!!
It's good that you have met someone to socialise with, a swimming pool and fitness centre - you are going to get fit then!!! What kind of shops are they?
It's a pity you can't get out and about as much as you would like - you could have taken up photography and got your quicky click doo dah camera you were wanting - that would have been a realy good reason to buy :)))
14 Oct, 2011
