... I agree with TT, a very delicate shade ...

Thank you Tt and Sheilar. The color is a lot darker than the picture.

This has been one of my favourite plants this year.

Alexandramou:

Watch out...this plant gets huge and takes over, big time.

Mine too Meanie, it's been blooming since spring and it just keeps going. I have a smaller one made from a cutting but the flowers on that one are not a dark blue as this one.
Could be the type or it could just be where it's planted???

OK Delonix....I need my plants to bush out a little. I don't want it to take over though.

It will tolerate heavy pruning.

You're up late.

This one maybe Alex.........

It's a light blue and is the "dwarf" form.

Nice blog....I missed it.

Mine is in no way a "dwarf"....either of the two plants.

I will go take some pics later on in the day of the two plants.
(see if the camera can capture the difference in color).

Meanie:

I agree with Alexandramou! There's several forms of this plant. Sometimess light blue, dark blue and white. They all grow to be huge! I see them along the freeways here every day.

3 Nov, 2011

They grow on your freeways there?!?!?! Only in gardens here but they give such a splash of color!

4 Nov, 2011

Yes, they grow everywhere. I've seen many hundreds of huge plants, just today. It's a weed here...each large shrubby-vine produces many thousands of seeds.

You'll see when you have hundreds of seedlings popping up everywhere in your yard. I don't ever want one of these plants in my yard because I'd never get rid of all the seedlings.

This is a beautiful plumbago....But here in south of french
it is not so necessary to protect her except some very cold winter

4 Nov, 2011

I'm not protecting the plant with the wood shavings Rayd2b...I'm trying to keep the weeds down!!! The weeds grow like crazy!
Plumbago's grow very well here on Corfu.
