Garden Bench with a View

Garden Bench with a View

I put my big garden bench across from the cabin under the big spruce, so I can view the whole garden as I read or just watch. I moved some wild Achillea on both side and placed a long box of red agaranthemum here in the forefront next to a gooseberry bush. This is the best view on the property, you can almost see the far hillside through the trees.

Thank you Homebird. It was a bit like a dream around here really, for me. I spent many days out here lounging, reading with the dragonflies and sparrows roaming the many flowers. :-) We only get those three months, so I take all I can get. We got a whole extra month this year before any real cold.

These days we feel a little guilty if we hope for a mild winter...with all the changes it makes us feel like we should be hoping for our concept of the norm...lol. glad you have had a nice summer...time to get cozy for the dark months...won't be long til March and the days will be lengthening.

6 weeks to solstice Lori. I'm already counting though its going fast. I couldn't believe the things that just kept going and going this year. Clear into October before I had to cut them from frosts. That can happen end of August, normally. Normal would be more reliable, but I'll take a month more warmth. I scheduled a trip away for a week, thinking I wouldn't be watering anymore. Nope, still pouring away. :-)

Thank you. Its a nice wide bench, really not much to see in this picture. We have many mushrooms and many grow in my garden. I always eat the puffballs, not brave enough for boletes.

Yes, it is always little bit risk. I love this mushroom:

Are they there?

Sorry, cliked earlier then I wanted. This mushroom (I do not know the English name) grows mainly in oak forests.

Well, I think, that daily meditation at this bench and you do not need to go to church :)

This one looks very similar to the bolete. If there are no gills under that hood, it may be the same. They must be harvested early and young here as insect just love them and often are eaten up inside. I really must try them sometime. We haven't any oaks, so I cannot compare.

I do believe the garden is a holy place, and the world is a church, so I guess that is true. This is where I can commune though often that would be while sitting on the earth amidst the beds.

:)
That was nice what you said :) and must say, after a very long time somebody recognized the real church. But I do not understand your comment about meditation on the earth between beds (?).

Thank you. I usually find church sitting on the ground among the beds rather than here on the bench. The bench is where I plan. :-)

I have a heavy accent to the way I use english so I'll try to keep it more straight forward. (I don't even understand myself sometimes reading back.)
