I hadn't thought of it like that! I'm trying to remember whether its rather greener in the summer - I think it is.

Interesting, Steragram. I just noticed an arm of one of mine looks more like this than the rest of the 10 or more others that are a pure dark green. The stem I mention is healthy and flowering... so nothing negative... :)

They should flower regularly if you treat them with the right regime - dry them off in late summer and start watering again in December.

do you grow them indoors or outside?

In the UK they are grown indoors, although they can stand outside for the summer. They don't much care for a lot of full sun as they are epiphytes and naturally grow in niches on trees like orchids.
