By the way, this is not Euphorbia pulcherrima, it's Mussaenda philippica 'Doña Luz'...which is in the coffee family (Rubiaceae) lol! :>)

Aahh! The gardener told me its common african name today...but I've forgotten it already!

He doesn't like it because it tends to grow really tall here, but is very straggly - probably not its ideal climate?

It's an African native. It's a gorgeous flowering shrub, which needs to be cut back after flowering to keep it compact. It likes regular fertilizer to keep it growing well, also.

Note: The climate there is perfect for this plant.

In that case, Delonix...I think it can go on my list! :))

Do you know if it will take easily from a cutting?

It should grow very easily from cuttings. That's how they're grown here in s. Cal (when you can find them for sale) and s. Florida.
