These ones are black backed jackals...quite small and 'fox-like', Delonix...I think that they behave quite like foxes too. There are side striped ones which are much bigger and more 'wolf-like' and wild dogs, which I wouldn't much want to be alone with in the bush...!

I wouldn't even want to meet up with a fox...as they can be quite mean.

I don't think I'd like to meet up with very many of the critters out there in the bush, Delonix....unless from in the safety of a safari jeep!

Let's hope the family resemblance stops at the ears!!

Lol! Delonix, it's quite scary to start with but you soon have trust in your guide...it's when you hear the lions roaring just outside the lodge that you worry a bit!

Oh help! She's fearless at the moment...goes back immediately for more grumpiness from Satchmo, the old American Cocker, but she follows me everywhere around the house and outside. :))
