thats a lovely one, main thing is to keep it out of a draught.

They like a bright location... don't over-water...

i am no expert at all but poinsettias have usually been fine all the way through to summer here!!! although they lose some of their colour.
most important is out of a draught and dont drown them!?

My record is only through to April. They are so beautiful, but I know I'm not good with them. I'm sure you'll do much better than me.
Happy Christmas!

I think a lot depends on how it was treated before you bought it Kath. I am now on my second one from Dobbies, the first one died as soon as I got it home. I did over water it though to be honest. Trying hard not to do that this time! I have a friend who managed to keep one going all year around in a sunny spot in the house...i've never seen one in June before or since!

When I lived in Spain I kept at least one plant going for several years! I have one or two photos of the oldest plant. Of course the bracts were much smaller in successive years but it flowered ever year for Christmas & spent the summer outside on one of our balconies.
At least 2 Christmases our daughter has given me a Poinsettia - but they both died within a few months! ;-(( I don't have one this year - though if I were to find one reduced in the sales I might get one!

@Scotkat: I'm very pleased for you! I was tempted to buy one on Wednesday morning but although it didn't look bad from the front the back was in a bad condition so I didn't get it. It was a white one, I've never had any other colour but red as far as I can remember!
Hope it does well for you for a few more weeks.
