Anything will grow in Wales;-)

I remember my first visit to Wales in July 2010 - dry, hot summer, brown lawns in London. Was so surprised to see green lawns, fields. So when I spotted this plant growing on the stone wall surrounding little church yard I wasn't surprised at all. Anything will grow in this climate, lol
Can you spot this little plant on the next photo?
P.S. found a common name - Great of Common mullein.

Verbascum!

Yep, verbascum. I wonder if this will come to flower in these conditions. :)

There's no flower spike yet, it might go mushy in the cold spell but you never know. I have so many of these, self seeded and the Verbascum moth usually eat them all up before they flower. I love the leaves.

Thank you so much, Lulu. I have learned all about the Mullein Moth, Cucullia verbasci, which I had never seen or head of before. The caterpillars look very pretty. Now I work with a lot of verbascum in herbaceous borders, and I will look out for these colourful nibblers. Thank you.

May I take the opportunity to thank you all for your comments and for learning something new:) Was not aware that little creature is associated with that particular plant. Learnt the common name of the plant as well...
But did you know this moth is restricted to South England and Wales only?
