Thank you - I love these little Irises, so I just decided to plant a whole lot together - there isn't anything else in the little bed so they don't get disturbed later in the year.

beautiful spritz. hoping to do similar in the raised bed next to the pond when i get the rockery stone.
£3 is expensive. I sell pots of 3 for £1.20.

What an appallingly high price! Buy bulbs in September, Homebird. You could get 25 (or more) for that.

I remember you planting these Barbara , don't they look wonderful , yours are way ahead of mine I wonder if it's because mine are in the lawn it might take longer to push their way through ....... I bought a tray of 2 doz last year for £ 2 from the market they had finished flowering so they were happy to sell them off cheaply , I should have quite a display this year including the ones I already had ....

Oh, I do hope so - I'll be interested in knowing if they thrive in grass.
31 Jan, 2012
Oh they do thrive well Barbara they look so pretty , I have quite a large patch of different ones , we leave the grass until they have well and truly died down before cutting it .... they are slow this year compared to yours .. I can only see the green tips so far !

That's good. As you can tell from my photo, it's impossible for OH to cut the grass at the moment, so it's a bit like a field out there! I haven't tried Irises in grass, but maybe I will next autumn. :-)

Thanks, Kath. They need to be planted in clusters, or you don't get the impact. :-)))
