No Pixi, they belong to our neighbours .... but ONE of them could be coming our way ...... Yumm!

Can't avoid it Pixi - it's brought to our door ready to eat after having a lovely life on the meadows around the village.

I guess so,, i like lamb but dont like to connect it to the actual lamb! :) silly i know

almost makes me contemplate becoming a vegan!

Partner went vegetarian for about 15 years, having worked in an abbattoir and being surrounded all day with bits of various animals, which effectively made me vegetarian too - unless I wanted to cook separate meals, which I didn't. But when we went out for a meal I ALWAYS ordered steak! Had to get my fix somehow! I could tolerate being vegetarian, but I can't imagine being vegan! Just too many lovely items of food out there!

ah yes moderation in all things! but I know if I had to raise my hand to kill my own food I'd be vegetarian for sure!! Lambs are such sweet looking harmless little creatures...like calves. Isn't it enough that we get rennet, lanolin and wool from these placid creatures?

Lovely looking lambs!

I know they look all sweet and fluffy and are amazingly funny to watch when they're up to a few weeks old, but by the time they're ready for the table they are looking more like their mums, so their demise doesn't seem quite so heartless. There's one little guy (or girl) in the compound that I'd love to be able to get a photo of if only the Mums would let me get near! He/She is black, but with a white splodge on his/her head that looks EXACTLY like a white bow! I'll keep trying!
