It's mild here in Wales :o) That suits me. I don't cope well with extremes of temperature.

These temps are not considered extreme here in San Diego, CA. for winter. If the temp was more 95ºF/35ºC., then it would be considered extreme.

I remember in late February 2002 it got up to 98ºF./37ºC...now that was very hot.

I saw the high temp today (Feb. 23, 2012) in London, England was 62ºF/17ºC and tomorrow it's forecasted to be warmer. This appears to be much warmer than the normal high temperature, which is great! :>)

These are normal temps for mid-April, according to our T.V. weather news. I'm so glad I had yesterday and today off of work...this weekend the temps are suppose to get back to normal.

28C was the mild temp here this summer.... (we are all glad it is going to end up soon... we had over 40C .. awfull, it burnt my Sakura and japanese maple trees :(
the tip of the branches and leaves are burnt to brown besides the profuse watering we did...
the hot weather combined with strong winds of the storms almost killed both trees...
i've trimmed the maple and the sakura, but was afraid to cut too short and finish killing the trees...the sakura has some new fresh green leaves but the maple still looking sad...any suggestions?

The only suggestion is keep watering them. There's not too much that can be done on burnt maple tree. Maples don't grow too well here, either. They need to be planted in semi-shade. Maples do best in the Pacific northwest, like in Seattle, Washington. They love cool rainforest.

:( hope it will survive... and well this tree is also known as acer palmatum... or it is it's botanical name... or Bôrdo (portuguese name)

the gardening suggestions here is to keep it out of noon sun and winds... so i moved it to the other corner of the balcony to see how it goes
