succumbed to temptation while at Sainsbury's yesterday - at last a plant I'd heard of!

thanks, TT. I think they'll be okay in this pot for this year at least - there's a plastic pot inside the waxed container. At least I hope they'll be okay, I worry about crowding plants, lolprobably I'd have 'em all a yard apart if I could!
ps I can't beleive that the RHS plant finder has 19 pages of narcissi, but not this one! assuming they're in poper alphanetical order, that is! found 'em on Shoot, Dave's Garden and BBc (eventually!) and I can amalgamate the info they all give.

Hi Fran... As long as the drainage is suitable, they should be okay. :o)

thanks, I'm assuming there'll be drainage in the inner pot, but I'd better take the outer pot off; if it rains, the inner pot'll be swimming!

I like your Pot Fran

thanks, it's a waxed paper pot the actualpot sits in - had a heck of a job to lever the inner pot out without destroying the outer pot - it'll "come in handy" for something or other, one day ...

If they don't bloom Fran at least it's on the pot to remind you what you're missing. They can be a bit temperamental in pots.

ah, right, thanks, Dorjac. I did wonder if I should move them into bigger pots or even a trough, but I have seen them bloom in this kind of tub - of course, you don't see pictures of ones that don't bloom!
When would they bloom, if they were going to? If it's soon, or soon-ish, I'll leave them; don't want to disturb them and maybe stress them close to blooming

My tete a tetes are blooming well in the ground, for the second year running. They came out of 2 Tesco pots after a lack lustre display. Not sure you have ground but a larger container shared, undisturbed, with other plants might be better than a little pot next time round.

nods, I will repot them later, but not sure how soon that "later" can be without causing them harm or at least discomfort - it's the "disturb" that's holding me back from doing it now. As "spring-fowering", maybe I should leave it till summer? Of course, if they do bloom this year, I'll leave it until they've died back.
They'll have to be "contained", no ground worth speaking of that I can get at, and not a lot of direct sunlight, but it's fairly light most of the day.

lol keep an eye on Sainsbury's about next February - they're likelty to reapeat a winning item!
I suppose one could buy waxed paper cups or pots and make one's own decorations?

its a crafty idea :-)))))

although, thinking about it, would paint take on waxed paper? maybe get plain ones, decorate and then varnish or otherwise protect the pot
