I'm chuffed I've managed to get this one to grow, let alone flower two years in a row

Plantaholic - this is not a showy plant - more a dwarf creeper for humus rich soil. You're supposed to weigh down any stems to keep them in contact with the ground so they make more roots. My friend Gill says hers only flowered when it was about to die!

This is so pretty I didnt know Daphne blagayana and expected it to be much bigger but I gather its a small evergreen alpine?

Very small, only a few inches high and a creeper. More of a woodlander than an alpine. Mine seems happy in a north facing position that gets sun in the afternoons, and soil that is slightly sandy but holds moisture well

If you think I've got time to get down on my hands and knees to sniff this when I've got little sense of smell .... yes, it is "intensely fragrant" (I looked it up!)
