Sticki ..The top piece of typing says ....
A few years after Beatrix Potter had sent the letters to Noel Moore she wrote to ask if she could borrow them back, She decided that she might make a little book of the story .I'm not sure if it's real or not Kat I will show you a copy of the last page ......

it is exactly her writing and pictures. could it be that someone copied these from the biographical books on Beatrix Potter for an exhibition??

perhaps the national trust would know???

I wonder...After Henry Moore died, a limited edition exact copy of one of his sketch books was produced right down to fingerprints and coffee cup stains. They are now worth £k's.

Did they do the same with Beatrix Potter? Either way Amy Get them checked.

You could Type the text of one of the letters in a google search...If it is a known letter it may show up. Indicating that this is a re-print...

this definately needs looking into. Go online and see if there is a museum type of contact you could take them to there. They need taking somewhere even the Antiques Roadshow when it comes in your region would be worth trying. DON'T trust anyone with them though, nothing is safe these days and if they say there not genuine they might want them because they are and offer a small amout of money and become rich themselves. Antiques roadshow is a good bet.

You are absolutely correct, Lindak. My own experience with all antique shops.

I have sent photos to the BP society Linda / Kat but haven't had any reply from them , it may be that the one I sent them to doesn't meet very often ! don't worry I won't leave them anywhere and will take them either to a valuation day or a road show when there's one in the area .......

...or keep them safe at home, Amy. You are the owner and the protector now. If nobody is interested, then it is their problem, not yours to solve for days. Relax and enjoy. maybe Miss Potter wanted to please you and you are so involved with technical part of issue, that you stopped to enjoy her art. Enjoy!
