That looks just like mine Shirley. Some of mine have terrible leaves and today I cut all the leaves off one that is about to start flowering as they looked such blinking mess! Chewed, blackened, torn....dreadful mess. New ones will come after the flowers so no worries. :)

Thankyou ladies ... first time I have had Hellebores in the garden ... I shall put up with the raggedy foliage but only because the flower is so pretty! ... Glad it's not just my garden with the bugs in, Karen .....

You can just remove the leaves Shirley...honestly, they will be fine without them...new ones will come later. I remove my leaves every year before they start to flower, as by that time they are always grotty.

I have removed the leaves from mine too,Shirley..and now they are finally flowering,I can see them much better..That is a pretty colour :o)
