Little monster

I've seen these before Sticki, but i can't remember the name of them yet, it'll come to me later...

yes they have curled hooks on.... that must have been a nightmare !

I remember these - used to jump when I saw them on me thinking it was a huge bee or spider

it's a burdock seed head just remembered.... funny things but full of hooks...

oh, thank you ~ didnt know that, does it have a purple flower and large leaves in summer??

i did think at the time i ought to go back and take a photo of them on the stem, wish i had now. didnt notice them until they appeared all over me ~ as if they were alive ~ first cousin to a triffid i think.

had to read day of the triffids for english at school but my dad complained about the swearing.

I think we used to throw these at each other as children and call them 'sticky buds' - I vaguely remember my Mum being cross when I went home covered in them, including in my hair :)

Thats what we used to call them too Gee and have had them in my hair too lol

I think I remember the pain more than anything, PP :)

We used to throw them onto the back of our teacher whilst out on nature rambles!!

She didn't realise...I suppose until she got to the staff room!

and sat down on them??? then she would know!!! i had to pull off about 30 of them, i was on the way to get a cup of coffee in the pub!!!
