Thank you TT. I thought there was something familiar about this plant. I looked at your link but still could not decide what the flowers would look like but the conical straight stem is as described. I then looked it up in my RHS Plant encyclopedia and it is mother of thousands. It is sometimes used as an indoor plant but it is hardy. If you have ever had one you will know it sends out runners like a strawberry with new plants on the end. There is no mention of Hime on the RHS site or in my book but some nurseries do sell it so it must be slightly different from S. stolonifera. The flowers consist of 4 long petals and one elongated petal. I've been racking my brain to think where I got it. It was only yesterday after all. I bought it in New Hopetoun GC where we had gone to look for C clips to replace the glass in the greenhouse door that was blown out in the recent gales. Nobody seems to sell them so we will try using W clips instead.

Sheila - how is this doing in your garden? Just bought one yesterday, any tips?

I'd forgotten about it and it is still outside. I'll visit it tomorrow and see how it is surviving. We had the same problem finding c cllips. They don't seem to do them any more.

I had a look today. It has been damaged by the rain so I will rig up a litle hat for it.

Thanks Sheila - I'll try provide a little shelter from the rain too. I've just got to find somewhere to put it now :)
