Abandoned daffs

Abandoned daffs

I felt very angry last night. When we walked the dogs we found these daffodils just picked from somewhere and then thrown away across the grass bank. I couldn't leave them there so now I am enjoying them :)

isnt it annoying Gee, people, not just kids dont give a hoot, they are there for all to enjoy but you did the right thing bringing them home.

Shame isn't it?

It's senseless. These people have got a psychological problem :o(
But I'm glad you rescued them ...

Thanks, Neellan. A friend gave me Daffy Duck, she said she saw it and thought of me :)

I like Daffy Duck and your rescue daffs. We have lots of daffs along the verges around the village and one day I saw a women picking them. She was driving a rather expensive car and one would have thought she could afford to buy a bunch in the shops. I pointed out that they were not for picking but to allow us all to enjoy them. Her reply was unrepeatable so I took down her car number and phoned the police. I was so angry but when the phone was answered I had to laugh and explained why I was phoning. I apologised for bothering them. The policeman on the other end of the phone said I'd done the right thing and she would not be doing it again. She would get a visit and be told in no uncertain terms that what she did was theft. If caught again she would be charged. He told me the policemen often come across abandoned daffodils and sometimes see kids picking them especially around mothers day. He like me was willing to turn a blind eye to that but it would not do if we all went out and picked a bunch.

Good for you, Scotsgran, hope the silly woman learnt her lesson. I kept finding my Verbena bonariensis lying outside my garden, plucked over the fence, roots and all! Then one day, my daughter arrived to find the little rogue who was doing it - she tackled him and he nearly died on the spot because she knew his name (he was in the same class as my grandson). Since then all my VB has been untouched :)

It is little wonder the youngsters behave as they do when you see how adults (mis) behave. I'm glad your rogue has been sorted out.
