Thanks all ,, the grass is in the fruit tree area Meanie it's full of daffs / Leucojum plus all sorts of other spring flowers it looks a picture and doesn't get cut until everything has died down ...

Very nice, I like these but they dont do well here.

There's a little trick to growing them Ph lay the bulbs sideways on a layer of coarse sand 5-8 " deep cover with sand and then replace the soil !

That is a good tip Amy, they are weird and wonderful, I remember seeing them growing wild in Spain a few years ago, they obviously don't mind the summer heat either.
