I did wonder if I could block the back and fix the lid, then I might be able to put a bird feeder in it to make it squirrel-proof - I didn't think of putting something on top to give a scale of the mesh, I'm not sure if it's big enough for anytihng but the smallest bird. Or, of course, I could stick a climbing plant in it!

there's a thought! thanks, Ojib. None of my ivies seems to wat to climb, but there'd be enough room for a biggish pot, in all dimensions, and it would trail very nicely, as you say. lol and if it came to it, i could take the top off!

If like me you have any plants in the garden that need support once they start growing you could lay this over the plant the stems would grow through ,instant support !

wow, Amy, good one! it'd make a neat ground-cover cage to protect young plants and give them support. All my stuff's in pots, but I do have a small trough that it'd fit over.

In Rome there is Castle of the Holy Angel (Castel Sant´Angelo), which once had been residence, fortress and had prison in underground. Giordano Bruno was imprisoned there for 6 years and also legendary Cagliostro - man of thousand faces. I was in his prison cell. The view was similar like view through your cage, lol :)))))))))

So how does the work on a letterbox cage continue? :)

lol it hasn't even started yet. I've been painting the outside walls, and now I've got 103 plants to repot, and then sort out the display into something more than just rows of pots - maybe then I'll have found a place for the cage and that might give me an idea what to do with it. or not, of course!

It would look good with an ivy trailing down from it?
