Now, these new primulas will have to be moved. I think I shall have to extend the gravel bed around the log. It's hard to find somewhere for the tiny things and this spot is soon going to be overhauled for the pond.

Pond has been cancelled Shirley. I just can't face the upheaval or the algae! ;) I've now moved these little primulas to the gravel around the wooden log feature...they look much happier there and they won't get 'lost'. I've really fallen for primulas this year. I never realised how many beautiful little ones you can get. I'm not fond of the bedding kind at all but there are some gorgeous little alpine ones!

I agree with what you're saying about Primulas, Karen. I bought three lovely little deep pink alpine ones, and was so pleased with them planted with purple Heucheras, but they now look really sad after a severe frost yesterday. :(( There was me thinking they were hardy!

I am not a fan of the very brightly coloured bedding types either, Karen, the pastel colours seem to suit the flowers better! ... As for ponds, we have tadpoles and snails again, but green water looks awful so Michael is going to have to sort it out ... his project after all ... lol!
