That's a little bonus! How tall will these grow, Scotsgran? They get to quite a height, don't they? (Not that I've ever grown them) but I think they are lovely the way they float above other plants.

Well done - they are looking very healthy.

Because they were a packet of mixed seeds I'm not sure how high they will grow, or how long they will take from planting out until they flower. Perennials often take 2-3 years before they flower so it is a wait and see really.

I'm surprised at how much water they like. They are growing in a small cardboard pot so I am going to transfer them to a six inch plastic pot to give them more room. I won't try to separate them yet. I hope to rear them to flowering size eventually.

This is seeds bought from Fir Tree Nursery at Gardening Scotland 2010. I put them in a safe place and lost them. They should have been planted by 12.11 but I decided to have a go anyway. I sowed them in cactus compost because it was all I had in the house and it was too cold to go outside. I kept them near the CH boiler in the kitchen and kept my fingers crossed. I was beginnining to think they would not grow but on 29.3.12 up they started to pop. I feel like a proud mum. There are 11 good seedlings and and I spotted another couple of seeds which had somehow reached the surface and they are sprouting so I pushed them under the soil again.
