Thanks Cinders. I was never much of an alpine person before...so these are an area of interest for 2012! I didn't realise how many different kinds of primula are out there!

Strange Karen, but I am just beginning to get hooked on these as well. Have had some in the garden for two or three years but they have never really got going till this year (see blog), but now I have some alpine ones as well, and am going to a specialist open day in a few days time so doubtless I will not be coming home empty handed !!

ha ha! we must like the same things Cinders, what with the Heucheras, and now the primulas! :))) Enjoy your open day. I have one on sunday as well SRGC event.

You have inspired me - I have auriculas in pots but am going to put some in the rockery too!

well, I'm not sure R's mum. I read earlier that they do better in pots and the other one that I have had in the ground for two years now isn't flowering yet. I was thinking I might take it out and put it in a pot for the winter.....

This is one of my SRGC finds Kath. Now that I think about it, there is an open garden this afternoon for SRGC members....I must look it up...it's a nice sunny day. I might just go!

Isn't it pretty. I am sad now when I look at this because I inadvertantly chopped off all the flower stems with the mower as I turned it around on the lawn. :(( Still, it will be fine...may even produce more flowers....

I hope so Karen, I chopped an allium by mistake !!
