Shh!...keep this under your hat...

These robins are cheeky little creatures...they've built a nest in my gardening hat on the porch!

Wonderful :o)))

Five eggs! - I had to lift the hat because there's a key hidden under there...I really hope that my coming back won't disturb them...

Wow... I hope the robins weren't too disturbed and that you get some more photos as time goes on :o)

I'll be really careful from now on, TT - it's right outside my kitchen door...but I'll tiptoe around.

The mother's sitting now and I don't want them to abandon the nest...but, we had a family of redstarts nesting in the porch of our old house and they weren't upset at all, so, here's hoping!! :)

That's fantastic Karen, such lovely little birds.........Btw has the evil sausage gone now? Lol x

How sweet - I hope you get to observe their comings and goings for us :)

Haha! Yes, Annie (at least I think so...unless it has actually 'melded' with the wall! lol!)

...but I came home to find a 'garlic mouse' sitting on my work-top...! :)))

I'm just hoping that I haven't scared them away already, Scottish...don't think so though...robins are the cheekiest of all the birds that come into the garden...

...apart from CoCo that is! :)))

Heehee, it is Paul and Bloomer! I've sure missed the wildlife round here! (strange, isn't it...I really expected to run into some really exotic stuff in Nigeria but there was nothing!)

Annie, it was just sitting 'looking' at me when I got home!
...a 'put up job' tho, I'm sure! ;))))

Nice spot out of the rain, will nesting ia a hat give them a head start in life :o)

23 Apr, 2012

I bet that garlic mouse made you larf! How lovely to have five little robin's eggs in your hat! If that had been me, I would have lunged at the hat and the whole nest would have been on the floor...robin's egg omelette! Well done for spotting it!

Heehee, Planto!! Maybe all the fledgling's will 'head' for home, when the time comes! :))

KS - that verrrry nearly happened!!

What a fairy accident, Karen :). You have/will have five guardians of your garden key :)

25 Apr, 2012

Heehee, yes, Pixi and Bev :))

Wouldn't that be lovely? I hope that they all make it, Katarina...I'm having to resist the urge to check on them - I wish my camera could take pictures round corners! :)

25 Apr, 2012

can t you buy such camera endoscope?

25 Apr, 2012

I don't know, Katarina - it would be very handy...but, I don't think that the budget would stretch that far right now - too many dead plants to replace :(

25 Apr, 2012

are they ok karen after you getting the key out ;o)

30 Apr, 2012

I don't think it was a 'key' building block, San (sorry for that - too cheesy! lol) ;)

...I've been trying not to be too obvious - cos they can even see me at the window...but, I'm cautiously optimistic... :)

30 Apr, 2012

We too. As your hat looks very protective :)

30 Apr, 2012

Just as well there's no sun here, Kat!! ;)))
