Lovely to see the robin. Our little bird has just appeared again after not seeing him for a few weeks.

Lol, Yorkshire ... you wouldn't want to see a photo of the beach/sea today ... it was so dull in the wind and rain ... :o( ... As soon as the sun appears I'll take a walk to the beach with my camera ... :o)

Brian ... makes you feel quite privileged, doesn't it? ... I put some finely grated cheese out on the garden table ... then sat really still a couple of feet away ... the pair of Robins scoffed the lot and just ignored me! ... :o)

We used to live 10 minutes from the sea before we moved to Derby and we miss it with all it's moods, and the beach to walk along.

What a lovely little chubby Robin..he looks very well fed..I love watching them too..all the birds seem to love cheese don't they? Must be a tasty change for them..:o)

Lindak - apart from a short spell of living in Chesterfield years ago we have always lived within walking distance of the sea ... take it for granted sometimes! .....

Hi Sandra - it's the first time I've given cheese to the birds ... just had a small amount left before starting a new one! ... By the way, Megan came up to the patio doors earlier this evening with a baby Blackbird in her jaws ... I could have cried as the parents have worked so hard for days to feed their brood .. :o(

Sad about your baby blckbird Shirley. The blackbirds hear have been pestered by one or two of the local cats. I go and shoo them off. I have a cat but she doesn't seem to bother much about the birds and If I see her interested I go and have a moan at her and she turns to me and grumbles then walks off.

Sounds like a well behaved cat ... :o)

Twinkle was the same, she would sit and watch the birds. I've had four Siamese cats over a period of time and they've all been very good. Taught them not to get up on to the table or kitchen worktop. Just kept taking them off and saying no loudly at them.

Just like teaching children ... lol!
