Angel's Trumpets are very widely grown here in San Diego.
They don't like the hot weather of summer, though. They love our winter weather, and bloom best during late fall, winter and early spring.

We visited Malta in December, which explains why they were in bloom in the cooler season .....

Malta most likely has a similar climate to San Diego's subtropical climate. It most likely flowers in summer, however, the plants wilts a lot. (even with lots of water).
