Clematis Alpina? (currently a Bee Umbrella) (Clematis alpina (Alpina Group clematis))

In a brief break in the rain I managed to get the camera out. I'm sure the label said C. 'Alpina.' but I have to say I'm really not sure. Please correct me as I'd like to know what it is (I' afraid it was another DIY store bargain area special.)

I've got one like this. It's called Clematis macropetala :o) It nearly got blown over in the gales this morning ....

Well I thought that all the C. Alpina had 4 petals but I did a google search and found this which seemed to confirm the original label.

(Not sure if I'm allowed to do shop links....I'm sure I be told off soon if not......probably OK though as there seems to be a ad of the same clematis from the same store on the right of my screen !)

Lovely. I find all the clematis pretty & the blue/lilac ones particularly so. I only have a NZ native white clematis in my garden, planted a few months ago, & doing well. In September/October of this year, when it is spring here, I intend to put in at least one more, but not sure which one at this point. If I haven't already said it .... welcome to GoY.

Scotkat there is no shortage of bees round here. I don't keep them but somebody nearby must. Actually we have lots of bumble bees too.
