Flower of the Kiwifruit in New Zealand

I love the frilled edges of the petals & the yellow of the stamens against the cream. And the fruit tastes so nice too.

The kiwifruit flower is bigger than apple-blossom .... more like a small hibiscus.

Such a beautiful flower, right?!
I see the vines here quite a bit. They do need some chilling in winter (although, not very many hours)...and here in San Diego we really don't have this. However, they seem to produce fruit relatively well.
Kiwis are commercially grown in the Central Valley of California.

This is the first time I see kiwi flowers. Looks like apple flowers.
