Surrounded by hostas...it might be too shady for it there...but, too late and too bad. The pot is too heavy to move and I'm too scratched and bloody to move the plant again!

Thanks Bloomer :)
I like the hostas but, unfortunately, so do the snails. And, even more unfortunately, the snails are loving all this wet weather...

They will be,Karen.. a thin layer of Vaseline round the bottom of pots and the rim ? Works for me,and cheaper than copper bands..:o)

Yep! I do that too, Bloomer... :))
...and sitting the pots on gravel helps a bit too...

So are most of mine too..the gravel really helps..They must think its the proverbial 'greasy spoon cafe' Lol.

I found more than twenty of them yesterday...enormous, they were!!!

Wow,,not the eating kind then ? ..not seen any snails yet..and only tiny slugs..but my organic "slug gone" product controls them well..

I also have that Yucca and I can vouch for your bloodiness!

You're not kidding, Karen...I even got it in the neck...
Thanks Annie :) x
Just as well - cos it's not moving again!!!

Thank goodness they didn't go in your eyes...:) Try to stay safe today Karen! :))

It's done now, Karen...and, that's the last time I'm ever having anything to do with moving them!!
There is NO mummification worth a damn! ;

Yup! We've actually had a lovely day today...amazing! It was very cold in the am, but later on it got a bit warmer and I was out there all afternoon....in my fleece and scarf, but still a lot better than yesterday's freezing wind! Have things warmed up where you are Karen?

We've had quite nice weather since the flooding on Monday in the daytime...apart from a short, but serious, thunderstorm today...
...so, it's been cardi on - cardi off - head for shelter...
In no particular order!!

Well, good, that's quite an improvement then! :))

Think there's a big new 'front' heading in from the Atlantic!...
...yippee!!!
(though, I won't be able to wallow in it - from a garden point of view - getting visitors! lol!)

Hi Karen
I am buying a yucca soon as well and have just got my terracotta pot ready for it, will post pic once in place.
I've read a tip that says take the needle off the end with a pair of nail clippers! Apparently it won't harm the plant and should stop it from harming you! Maybe you could try it on 1-2 leaves round the back first and check! I am definitely going to try this when mine is in place on the patio!

That is a very good idea, Sarah. I will definitely try that...
I've had quite a few near misses with it having my eye out, since I added a few pots of herbs around the bottom...luckily, I've been wearing sunglasses at the time... :/
I hope it does well for you, it should do...this one was only tiny when I planted it last year! :)
