I have been wondering what had become of a number of pots of hostas but they are all growing and haven't let me down!

I see you have several snails on there Wells, better get rid of them. I have to go round mine every day, there are some huge ones around at the moment.

They're coming along nicely. They seem to grow rapid once they're through the soil don't they?

Went to check and there are some slug pellets there and the snails on the pic should not present a problem!!
Oh dear now I feel guilty about 'Cruelty to snails!!!'
But, then if those little blighters had eaten my hostas................!

I have tried everything with my hostas , but they seem to nibble at the hostas first and then the pellets! This year, I'm trying the sharp grit you get out of builders sand. Up to now , its been successful. Oops! perhaps I shouldn't have said that!!

I'm having the same war with lily beetles at the moment, every time I look there's loads of them, have felt very guilty squashing them :-( but think they were going to far actually mating on my plants, died happy I suppose :-)
