Up at 3:25 back playing up so I got up took bruce out then went up here on my bike.

thats what i feared, pimms that is really rough, so sorry.

does the bike help or make it worse?

i was awake at 1 this morning ~ some wretched helicopter was whirring around over the top for ages.

The bike is easier than walking, it seems to ease things. I have to go back tomorrow...There are allotments here, the manager is threatening to throw out all the allotment holders that are not using their plots. So I will be putting my name down on the list.

it really is serene 7. Tried to get a good shot of the great crested grebes...they were not having it.

oh definitely name on the list!!! and i hope you can get a photo of those lovely grebes.

i used to work with someone who had a problem with her back she said the only relief she could get sometimes was hanging upside down on her children's swing.

I took some of the grebes but they were right in the blooming middle of the lake.

We have another canoe and kayak centre on the canal locks just half a mile away.....loads of stuff here Sticki. Even though Manchester city centre is just a mile away.

I have the river medlock 250yards away same for the canal, river Gore (more like a brook) about half a mile away. Then these reservoirs.

No...Even though I can be in the countryside Derbyshire/Lancashire/yorkshire/Cheshire in 20 minutes you would miss your lovely walks.

i dont have those that near. no really good ones from my house.

worcestershire is pretty, undoubtedly, but herefordshire for example, is so much more rural, peaceful, and free!!! as in it gives me a sense of freedom.

Beautiful pic Pimm's, but sorry your back is playing up. There is something so peaceful about being "in the world" before everyone else is up (small consolation, I know. :))

It's Ok Sheila I get up early every day...That's what I miss about the old start times at work. Something not right about posties not starting work until 06:45am :/

Awake before dawn, but couldn't see sunrise 'cos of all the clouds! This is beautiful. So peaceful.
I always quite fancied white water rafting, Sticki, but just never quite got around to it. Sad.

with two rivers so close, Pim, do you get problems with so much rain as we've been having lately?

There are even more than that Fran, the mersey is only a couple of miles away. The only place that has a flooding problem is near where I used to live, where the Mersey would flood quite often.
The poor little Medlock river is culverted in so many places it is hardly visible.
