Ouch indeed Amy..
17 May, 2012
You didn't dash of to the doctor in those days my foot was plunged into hot water with salt added every so often until it healed .....

Amy, this is quite effective treatment of wounds without antibiotics. During my childhood I saw several kids whose burns were treated by this way by grandmothers - then saw one of them after many years - almost any signs of scar. :))
But it must have been painfuuul.

Do you know, Pim, why is it called horse chestnut? In last centuries it was given to horses which were "breathless". Do not know what does that mean, as I am not vet, but because in human medicine it is also used in cases of coronary artery disease (can manifest by breathlessnes on exertion as well), one might easyly find an association.
