The smallest unknown flower..... it looks more pink to my naked eye.

Definately not a Veronica. It's not a veronica-shaped flower.
I wonder if it's Field Madder - Sherardia arvensis
A prostrate hairy annual. Square stems. Whorls of 4 - 6 stiff leaves. Flowers in small heads, surrounded by leaf-like bracts ... tiny, pale purple, with a slender corolla tube.

Oh..I thought you had it Hywel.. but the leaves are wrong and it does not grow upright.. I will try another pic with something for scale..the flower does look right though :/

It is on a rather neglected verge by the entrance to the infant school...I will wait till it is closed before taking another photo or I will be arrested..
having had a good look again at Hywel's ID of
"Field Madder - Sherardia arvensis" I think he has got it again...
