Thanks Paul, I was on the bridge meanie! Usually the adult is white aggressive, perhaps he didn't notice me??
Never eaten roast swan!
24 May, 2012
Too damned aggressive for my liking!
24 May, 2012
I agree, and you will laugh at the picture Im going to put on ~ not a swan this time ~ but also too aggressive for my liking!!

I must get up to the park soon to see if the swans there have had success! :)) lovely photo. The goose one is a very familiar sight to me as Oliveoil used to have geese where she now has garden and leaving and returning home was always a challenge...I hate those blasted geese.....they are sooooo aggressive! lol

I knew the swans had got a nest because they hadnt been on the canal for a few days, just had to wait till they swam up to the bit i walk along!!
you would never think they would grow up to be so aggressive would you!??

lol...you could say the same about my JR Terrier! :)))

Just love this time of year - filled with baby things! We were in full Aaaaaaawwwwwww mode yesterday when we saw the baby wrens had fledged from thir nest on the beam of our patio and were trying to balance on silly places in the garden, like the top of the broom handle leaning against the wall. I think they've now been led away by the parents to an easier-to-deal-with place!

That's scary Karen,
They look sweet don't they PP - but I couldn't say sweet and innocent cos I know the adults will do anything to protect the young. There hasn't been one baby duck on the canal this year! :-(
How beautiful to see the wrens nariz, I love those little birds.
26 May, 2012
We've got a wrens' nest just under the eaves, and the adult has been flying back and forth for days with a beakful. How they work! And what a loud call for such a tiny bird! I watched a magpie and a wren (!) see off a cat from the garden yesterday. The noise was deafening!

how lovely melchi, and well done that magpie [and wren]!!

Ever so precious. All baby things are beautiful, but I think a duckling, or cygnet tugs at my heartstrings the most.
