I felt lucky Lil and Bloomers wonderful blogs have reminded me of so much I'd forgotten.
Its not an easy journey to Cornwall once you leave the motorway, cornish lanes are amazing often one car wide with banks of wild flowers either side and if the seamist rolls in quite spooky.....you may be able to find some photos on google images

Quite a few on their website, though not nearly as nice a Bloomer's.
Think if I made it to Cornwall, the rest would be easy, even driving on the wrong side of the road ;)))

My OH is a Janner. We did a 'roots' journey a few years ago...we didn't go to Heligan, but he took me around all the beautiful coves where he spent his childhood. The road down to Lamorna (?) is just amazing.

On some cornish roads Lil there isn't a wrong side...

I sort of remember some geology programme showed Cornwall and Scotland separate to England, came together later in its evolution fascinating places....
